ORQUESTA LA BIABA

La Biaba shows a new generation of tango musicians in their attempt to recreate the depth and richness of the traditional tango music without forsaking its tradition and dance spirit.

Formed in 2010 in Rosario (Argentina), La Biaba has a new point of view of tango from the Buenos Aires’ periphery. Its members are young musicians engaged with the study, renovation and rescue of tango as one of the most important Argentinian cultural expression. La Biaba try to capture the essence of the tango's artistic tradition by exploiting every aspect of the genre.

After two years of intensive work, the Orchestra presented its first album "La Biaba Tanguera" in 2012. This sound recording came out after more than 15 years of absence of typical tango orchestra's studio recordings in Rosario. The album was well received by a large audience and critics during its presentation and also did so in various concert halls and festivals in Argentina.

In 2013, the Orchestra La Biaba won the first prize as Best Instrumental Ensemble at the "New Values Competition” of the prestigious Cosquin Festival, competing against many orchestras from all around the country. Furthermore, in recognition of the achievement obtained, they were invited to take part of the schedule of the Cosquin Festival along with other very well-known musical groups and orchestras from Argentina.

Today, La Biaba is recording their second album made of new musical arrangements and the compositions that are performed in their present shows.

As for their music, the band focuses on the history and evolution of tango, using the stylistic resources developed by the leaders of the genre, both in the "golden era" as well the present. La Biaba compositions, arrangements and performances achieve a strong and great feeling to the listener. Also, the orchestra shows a wide panorama of tango by writting its own vocal and instrumental music, by making different kind of arrangements and by performing traditional and contemporary tangoes.

ORQUESTA LA BIABA

La Orquesta La Biaba refleja la búsqueda de una nueva generación de músicos de tango que intentan recrear en la actualidad la profundidad y la riqueza musical del tango, sin abandonar su tradición y su espíritu bailable.

Formada en el año 2010 en Rosario, Argentina, La Biaba es una de las nuevas miradas al tango desde la periferia de Buenos Aires. Está compuesta por jóvenes abocados al estudio, rescate y renovación del tango como expresión cultural argentina, plasmando su trabajo en este proyecto artístico colectivo que reivindica la tradición y explota las posibilidades del género.

Luego de dos años de trabajo intensivo, presentan en 2012 su primer material discográfico, "La Biaba Tanguera". Este registro sonoro aparece en la ciudad de Rosario luego de más de 15 años de ausencia de grabaciones de estudio de una orquesta típica de tango en la ciudad. El disco fue muy bien recibido por una numerosa audiencia en su show de presentación y en diversas salas y festivales de la Argentina.

En 2013, la orquesta gana el primer premio del certamen "Nuevos Valores" del Festival Cosquín como conjunto instrumental, compitiendo en diversas etapas del certamen con expresiones artísticas de todo el país. En enero de ese año, como reconocimiento al logro obtenido, forman parte de la programación de este festival que convoca múltiples artistas relacionados al folclore y a la música tradicional de Argentina. En la actualidad La Biaba programa la realización de su segundo disco en donde registrará los nuevos arreglos y las composiciones que interpreta en sus shows en la actualidad.
